Please take a moment to find your job placement, then PLEASE take a look at the attachments to familiarize yourself with the job description. We are asking that each of you arrive at St. Cecilia no later than 5:20 so we can have an EXTREMELY important director's meeting that begins promptly at 5:30 in the chorus room. We understand that this information is late in coming and differs from previous communications. However, we have spent the weekend trying to make heads-or-tails out of this process to make it run as smoothly as possible. Please forgive the last minute changes and say a little prayer that all will run smoothly on Tuesday evening:) If you have any questions concerning this job placement, or any part of the audition process, you can call me at home tonight or tomorrow night at 615-672-4888 or at school between 7:30-4:30 at 615-672-6414.
Thanks for your cooperation,
--- Katie Oldham
Here's additional information about Tuesday evening:
First of all, everyone needs to arrive by 5:15 on Tuesday, Feb. 5th at St. Cecilia Academy. You may want your students to follow you in other vehicles. The reason we say this: the directors need to plan to be at St. Cecilia until possibly 10:00 p.m. (It took ETVA 3.5 hours to do this!!!!).
The students are DISMISSED as soon as they find out their results in the "results" area, which is located in the old lobby of St. Cecilia. Lewis Walling is manning this table. HOWEVER, If you have students who placed 1st chair or 2nd chair in ANY choir on ANY voice part, they are asked to stay until all the octets have finished. They are being used as "fillers" in incomplete octets. Tell them this is an HONOR!! Tell them to bring homework:)
If your students are with you, have them FIRST go directly to the sign-up table of their respective choir in the NEW LOBBY of SCA. They will receive VERY important information about their group number and audition start/stop measures to TAKE with them. THEN, they head to the St. Cecilia Theater, which is in the old section of St. Cecilia. (This is different from what J.J. said in the letter.) They will be sitting in a designated spot in the theater, according to choir and octet number. From there they will be escorted to an audition room by a runner.
REMEMBER: The DIRECTORS all report to the St. Cecilia chorus room in the old part for a meeting, which begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. In this meeting, you will "learn the ropes" of the evening, more of what your specific job entails, etc.
JUDGES, don't forget your music, and PLEASE study the part that you will be judging!
PLEASE email me back as SOON as you get this message saying that you received this message and the previous message. Again, PLEASE call me with any questions. Don't wait until Tuesday night to ask. We will be short on time as it is.
Thanks,
Katie Oldham
